Salinger is Dead"....sorry, Ann.</div><div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;">-Second order of business: Silent Auction </span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;"><br /></span></div><div>We need one print/piece of art from every club member for the auction by Monday Feb. 1st. Please drop these off in Kyle's flat file or in the Grad Office.</div><div>Kyle will be hanging the work up for the auction on the 2nd floor of the SOA on Monday Feb. 1st and will be up through Valentines Day.</div><div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;">-Third order of business: Club Dues $$</span></div><div><br /></div><div>PAY THEM! We will be using this money to order t-shirts to print on and take with us to SGC in March as well as club aprons.</div><div><br /></div><div>As far as the t-shirts go, we encourage everyone to submit designs to the club and we will vote on the top 5 to print and take with us. Can be screen printed or relief blocks.</div><div><br /></div><div>As far as aprons go, we are still looking for some good deals on some Takach-like ones (cross-back style).</div><div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;">-Fourth order of business: Print Sale</span></div><div><br /></div><div>Originally we had talked about holding the sale 2 weeks after SGC, but it was brought up that doing it before would be beneficial to all money-wise.</div><div>It will be changed to run 3 days long, Tuesday March 16th-Thursday March 18th with the added bonus of giving people the option to stop by the shop on Friday to continue purchasing. I will be working Fridays in the shop and would be happy to take on this responsibility.</div><div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;">- Fifth order of business: Change in Bandolier Press' Constitution</span></div><div><br /></div><div>The position of Student President was voted in as an additional officer. Kyle was officially voted in as Student President.</div><div>The position of Sargent of Arms is now open and the position will be filled next meeting by the vote of the club.</div><div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold;">-Additional orders of business:</span></div><div><br /></div><div>We need a club logo! So we encourage everyone to submit a design that is high contrast, in black and white and that is resizable for use on t-shirts and/or patches.</div><div><br /></div><div>The idea for a U-Haul Show outside of The House (just a suggestion) was brought up. Bringing cheap prints to the streets for all to buy or at least see! This would most likely take place next semester.</div><div><br /></div><div>Possibility of a club show of large scale (6ft. x 4ft.) collaborative works was brought up. This would take place this summer and then hopefully the works would be displayed in 214 Gallery in the Fall.</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6718809377329401783.post-70312132043151201652010-01-27T20:59:00.000-08:002010-01-27T21:03:57.255-08:00Vids for the KidsHere is our wonderful video, just thought it would be worth some laughs to be up here<br /><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; My hope with this whole thing is to offer some community and power to you all in your art career and network. We have a lot of ambitions with the club, with the ultimate hope of eventually getting enough power to give members exhibition opportunities in Chicago and surrounding areas. No one wants to just exhibit in DeKalb. This club is meant to be fun, and no one should take it to serious, but I do ask of you to work for its rewards. Also, NO ONE has supreme power, this is a democratic club, where ALL club business is decided by the members in majority votes. No one is above the club, and no one makes decisions without consulting members, including officers, PERIOD. I know it sounds serious, but its to keep club cohesion and community. I nor do the rest of you want some jerk telling you what to do, so we keep the jerks OUT! Other than that, I hope everyone is excited, this is going to be a good time I promise, and if its not, we'll figure a way to make it one. If anyones asks you about the club, this is not a school club this is a voluntary association of friends, like most clubs, so the funding we get is from us, for us. I would like the group to be pretty tight, so grads and undergrads should continue to associate, there should be no real boundary. Alright, I will stop with the rules, I know you guys already know them. <div><br /></div><div>Anyways, there is going to be a list of events next semester starting right from the get go. We will cover this all again at the Jan 7 meeting at Twins, but here is a brief list. </div><div><br /></div><div>Jan 11- Tom's Show and Printing with Associate Artist</div><div>Jan 19- Cannonball Press</div><div>Feb 1-12 - Silent Auction</div><div>Feb 10, 11, 12 - Print Sale</div><div>Mar 15 - Portfolio Work is Due</div><div>Mar 24-27 - SGC in Philadelphia, PA</div><div>Apr ..... - Wayne Kimbell</div><div>MFA Thesis Exhibitions- Ann Flowers and Darren Houser</div><div><br /></div><div>Thats just what we have for now. I know I mentioned this in the email, but again please work on designs for the club over break and bring the to the Jan 7 meeting so we can get those going out of the gate. Also, if you all could send Jess or me an image of your best work, in your mind, along with title, medium, size, year, and if you have a website, so that I can do a post on the work of club members. I think thats everything, so other than that have a great break and we'll see you all at the next meeting. Again if any questions or concerns, shoot emails to me or jess, or just comment or post up here on the blog. Thanks again.</div><div><br /></div><div>oh yeah, Club Dues art to be paid at the next meeting, so bring an extra 25$ to the meeting. Now I think thats it.</div><div><br /></div><div>Best-</div><div>Kyle </div></div>Bandolier Presshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15892470960859282823noreply@blogger.com2
